Statement/ Purpose — The purpose of a Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Directors is to govern the community fairly, responsibly, and in accordance with its governing documents. The board acts on behalf of all homeowners and plays a vital role in maintaining the community’s value, appearance, and quality of life — including:
- Enforcing Governing Documents — Uphold the CC&Rs, bylaws, and rules that homeowners agreed to upon moving in.
- Manage Finances — Oversee the annual budget, dues/assessments, and reserves. Make decisions on maintenance spending, contracts, and project prioritization.
- Maintain Common Areas — Ensure upkeep of shared spaces and oversee repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance.
- Support Community Life — Organize or approve community events and newsletters. Encourage resident involvement through committees or open meetings.
- Hire and Supervise Vendors — Work with property management companies, landscapers, contractors, and other service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet expectations
- Communicate with Homeowners — Provide transparent updates and make decisions in the best interest of the entire community, not individual preferences.
